In Antarctica, a team of LexCorp
scientists excavate an object of bizarre technology and manage to
escape just before an earthquake rips open the ground beneath them,
revealing a strange creature from below, which attacks a Superman Robot. In Metropolis, Clark Kent and Lois Lane host Jimmy Olsen for dinner at their apartment. When Kelex
sounds an alarm, the couple find an excuse to ask their guest to leave.
He informs the Man of Steel about the intruders and Lois insists on
accompanying him to the Fortress of Solitude to learn more about her husband's Kryptonian heritage.When they arrive, a gang of mammoth Kryptonian beasts bursts
forth from inside the Earth. He surmises that this is one of the fail
safe plans from the Eradicator.
The monsters prove susceptible to cold and Superman shoves them into
the ground, surrounded by a makeshift prison. He instructs the Superman
Robot to watch guard and inform him if there are any further
disturbances and he tells Lois that the Fortress must be permanently
destroyed to save Earth. As they return home, John Henry Irons also makes his way back to Metropolis, in order to sell a highly advanced suit of armor to the Metropolis Special Crimes Unit.
