At Red Clay Penitentiary in Ringgold, Georgia, Travis Clevenger is
being interviewed by the prison psychiatrist. The psychiatrist asks
about Travis' life in Cartersville, Georgia as a child and his college
pursuits. The psychiatrist does notice an old photo of Travis when he
was arraigned for shooting his own partner. Travis was husky during the
trial proceedings but he has built himself up during his incarceration.
The evidence against Travis was based on mitigating circumstances but he
was convicted nevertheless. Travis had impressive collar in catching
metahuman criminals for the Atlanta PD. The psychiatrist brings up the
six altercations that Travis has had during his incarceration. The
psychiatrist shows Travis one picture of a man that Travis may
recognize.
Travis recognizes the inmate as Hank Barrett and he chuckles
because Travis has been sending Barrett "Get Well Soon" cards. Travis
ends the conversation by saying to the psychiatrist that he has no
empathy for the criminals in this prison. The psychiatrist reports to
Agent Bell by saying that Travis is frustrating though extremely
intelligent. The results of Travis' MMPI came out inconclusive and his
borderline personality has characteristics of intermittent explosive
disorder while concealing symptoms of post-traumatic stress. Agent Bell
thanks the psychiatrist for his input and walks into the interview room
with Agent Jerry Bryce. Travis and Jerry have shared a professional
courtesy between the Atlanta PD and the FBI. Agent Bryce offers Travis a
deal that could get him out of prison and Travis shows interest.
Agent Bryce informs Travis that last year, seven young attractive
brunette women from Gateway City were killed. Each case involves a home
invasion with nothing taken or damaged. The criminal just made his
presence known and started stalking his victims. Each victim would get
raunchy emails then death threats which were followed by phone calls
with a voice modulator. The harassment would go on for three weeks then
the victim would end up tortured, raped and finally murdered. The emails
and phone calls were untraceable. The criminal has moved his activities
to Atlanta where one woman who fits the description has been killed.
Another woman is already beginning to receive death threats. Travis
would be acting as a consultant for Agent Bell. Agent Bryce can almost
guarantee that Travis' drug charges would be exsponged and possibly
shave off the rest of his prison sentence for Travis' cooperation.
Travis tells Jerry that he has decided to pass on their offer but
Jerry asks Travis to reconsider because the killer's next victim is
Rachel Crosby, the daughter of his ex-partner Vincent Crosby. Meanwhile,
a convict named Lopez plans on creating a prison riot in TV Room 3 and
kill Travis during the chaos. The riot breaks out and Lopez grabs a
shotgun from a guard. Lopez heads to the interview room with two other
convicts. Lopez busts down the interview room with a shotgun blast which
hits Jerry in the abdomen. Saffron tries to negotiate with Lopez but
Travis takes advantage of Bell's distraction by breaking his bonds then
lunging at Lopez. Travis knocks Lopez's head with one of the other
convicts which causes Lopez to pull the shotgun's trigger and the
gunshot blows off the head of the third prisoner.
Travis tells Saffron to bandage Jerry with her coat and carry him
on his shoulders while he acts as her bodyguard. Travis and Bell head
down a corridor where Travis takes down a few more rioting prisoners.
Travis tells Bell that there is a safe place to hide in the guard
station at the main entrance. An elderly convict with a group of
prisoners behind him stand between Travis and the main entrance. The
convict tries to intimidate Travis but Travis simply uses his index and
middle finger to rapidly gouge out the convicts eyes with one stroke.
The convict screams in pain and the rest of the prisoners are crippled
with fear. The prisoners allow Travis and Agent Bell to get Jerry
outside. An ambulance arrives and the emergency response was able to
stabilize Jerry before he could bleed out. Travis tells Saffron that he
will take the case. Travis and Bell ride with Jerry in his ambulance to
the hospital while a crooked cop working for the King informs him that
Travis Clevenger is out of prison.
